Bio

Kira Morrison is a Los Angeles native, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Influenced by artists like Taylor Swift, Ingrid Michaelson, Theo Katzman, and Lady Gaga, she is a singer/songwriter emerging onto the music scene with a warm, upbeat and enjoyable sound reminiscent of classic and contemporary soft pop and folk.  While her main genre is pop, she also has experience singing classic and modern rock, jazz, R&B, and world music.  Before the age of 25, Kira has already performed on stage with acts such as Aubrey Logan (Postmodern Jukebox), Adam Levy (Norah Jones), Gordon Goodwin, Matt Bennett ('Victorious'), Donny Most, and Becky Martin.  She was recently in a commercial for the SoCal Honda Dealer's 'Random Acts of Helpfulness' ad campaign featuring her song, ‘Hello Beautiful.’  Kira released her debut EP ‘Progressions’ in 2014 and is currently working on her second EP while studying at Los Angeles College of Music for her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance.  Since starting school, she has had the honor of studying various genres of singing with talented voice teachers such as Tierney Sutton, Kacee Clanton, Carol Weslman, and Sara Leib.  She also formed her pop group at LACM with bassist Marcy Mejia, guitarist Tommy Drinkard, and drummer Paulina Zenteno, who have performed with her at Republic of Pie, Room 5 Lounge, House of Gods, The Confidential, Boardner's Hollywood, Kulak’s Woodshed, The Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival, and in front of Rose Bowl Stadium for the Pasadena Spring Festival.  Later, she would go on to form her new jazz group Kira & The Major 3 at LACM with guitarist Nico Co, bassist Marcy Mejia, and drummer Tim Gaisser.  And, in 2017, she was selected out of college students all over the country to be one of the top 4 finalists in Grammy U's 2017 Rock the Mic showcase at the Ivar Theater.
