Upon completion of the Bachelor of Music program in Vocal Performance, students will:

  1. Focuses on giving vocalists the tools to ‘get to the music’ as full partners with great instrumentalists and producers. 
  2. Presents them with opportunities to gain feedback from professionals in A&R, recording, film & television and live touring. 
  3. Courses are specially sequenced to maximize learning potential throughout the program.
  4. LACM prepares you for the music industry and what goes beyond school. 
  5. Music Business subject which allows one to learn the fundamentals of business models and more.

Vocal Application Requirements

VIDEO #1 – ASSIGNED SONG
Upload a video of you performing one (1) of the following songs. Applicants must accompany themselves with an instrument, utilize an instrumentalist, or sing to a backing track. (We do not accept acapella performances)

  • Bridge Over Troubled Water – Simon & Garfunkel
  • Fly Me To The Moon – American Jazz Standard

VIDEO #2 – SONG OF YOUR CHOICE
Upload a video of you performing any song of your choice (2 – 5 minutes). Applicants must accompany themselves with an instrument, utilize an instrumentalist, or sing to a backing track. (We do not accept acapella performances)

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The Admissions Committee is looking for live performances giving the committee a sense of what would be heard in a live audition setting.
  • It is imperative you can be seen and heard at the best possible quality.
  • Your videos must not be produced, edited, or be given any effects. Overly produced videos will not be evaluated.
  • Applicants may not utilize any pitch correction (auto-tune) of any kind, and should utilize minimal production (reverb/effects).
