David Joyce is a singer/keyboard player/songwriter who has worked with the likes of Chris Isaak, Burt Bacharach, U2, Neil Young, Oasis, Natalie Cole, Elvis Costello, Dionne Warwick, Sheryl Crow, Ray Charles, Babyface, Michael Jackson, David Byrne, Richard Marx, Tim McGraw, Wyonna Judd, Frank Sinatra, Vince Gill, and Barry Manilow. He has played and sung on many television shows,, including Academy Awards ’13, Family Guy, Studio 60, Passions, Saved by the Bell, and the Tonight Show. Some of the films he has sung on include: Battle for the Planet of the Apes; Rogue One (Star Wars); Star Trek: Beyond, Jurassic World, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Oz-the Great and Powerful, Matrix 2 & 3, The Last Airbender, Watchmen, X-men2, Wanted, Spiderman 3, the Simpsons Movie, World Trade Center, Superman Returns, King Kong, There’s Something About Mary, Sixth Sense, Big, Contact, LA Story, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Adventure.

David won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Group 1986 – Clare Fischer’s “2+2 Plus”. He was an adjudicator/clinician at the 2010 Reno Jazz Festival, as well as at a number of other Southern California vocal festivals.

In addition to being Vocal Department Chair at the LA College of Music, he also teaches commercial & jazz voice at Azusa Pacific University, Songwriting and Vocal Performance classes at Pasadena Community College, David was also head of vocal jazz and taught the Jazz Vocal Ensemble at Cal State Univ. Northridge from 2010-2014. He taught Studio Singing & “Careers in Music” at USC, Vocal Arranging & Harmony for Vocalists at Musician’s Institute; taught Master Classes for Grove’s School of Music and Long Beach High School, Pro Voce (national singers and voice teachers’ organization) and has adjudicated various high school and college choral and vocal group competitions around California. He has worked with Voices Within- empowering young artist/songwriter/performers in dis-advantaged elementary schools, and Urban Voices – empowering socially disadvantaged people.

David has also been leading vocal seminars in Italy every summer since 2005 – including the Verdi School in Florence.

David has several cds of his own: Dharma Buds – world music/jazz (composer, arranger, keyboards, vocals) – with David Vito Gregoli; All Hands – inspirational/adult contemporary group (composer, arranger, keyboards, vocals) – with William Belote; two cds as a member of the wonderful jazz vocal group Vocal Nation/Wahoo Do Re, and several cds with Clare Fischer’s “2 plus 2 plus”. David also sang, played and arranged/produced several tracks on Natalie Cole records.
