A native of Miami, Fl, Ryan was born to a Cuban family and has spent his life immersed in the Spanish Language and Culture. He began his studies at the University of Florida, studying foreign language and music, before relocating to San Francisco and studying at the San Francisco Conservatory. He then pursued a career as a classical vocalist/pianist performing with some of the most renowned organizations in Southern California including the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the LA Philharmonic, and the LA Chamber Orchestra. Ryan has been teaching Spanish to all ages since 2005 and currently teaches at La Salle Preparatory Academy in Pasadena. He believes that speaking in the target language and an appreciation of the culture is the key to language acquisition, and his love of music and language permeates everything he teaches. Ryan is thrilled to be a new member of the LACM faculty this year.
