Teresa James was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she began her musical studies and performed locally until she moved to Los Angeles in the early 80s and began to get studio work recording for television – the Reba show, Step By Step, the Ellen Show (ABC sitcom in the 90’s), Cop Rock, The Simpsons and many others; for movies – Toy Story 3, Cars 3, Holes, to mention just a few, She also wrote and produced a song sung by Andi MacDowell for the movie, Michael. Her voice is also featured on many commercials for radio and television, and on albums by Randy Newman, Neil Diamond, Eric Burdon, Bill Medley and many, many others. Teresa has also recorded songs for many prominent songwriters including Burt Bacharach, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Steve Dorff, Dolly Parton and many more.

Teresa has performed with many notable acts and has been working with her own band, Teresa James & the Rhythm Tramps for many years – recording 12 CDs with her ‘Here In Babylon’ CD receiving a Grammy nomination in 2019 and her last 4 CDs getting 4 start reviews in Down Beat magazine.
